Label It! Why We Oppose The Dark Act

dark actWe at OSEA are big believers in every person’s right to live a clean, healthy lifestyle. A big part of clean living these days is making educated desicions regarding what we put in and on our bodies. This was the very ethos behind Jenefer Palmer’s vision for OSEA: skincare so pure it is an integral part of a clean, active healthy lifestyle. Self care as health care.

That is why we at OSEA firmly oppose the proposed bill to block states from labeling GMO’s also known as the Deny Americans the Right to Know – or  – “DARK Act” and encourage others to oppose it as well.

This bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives despite the fact that “more than 90 percent of Americans, including a majority of Republicans, believe foods made with GMOs should be labeled,” said Scott Faber, senior vice president of government affairs for EWG. “Consumers in 64 countries already have the right to know if their food contains GMOs.  Supporters of this bill are trying to keep this basic information from their constituents.”

All OSEA products are 100% free from GMOs and we would like to ensure that all companies, food and cosmetic alike, are legally required to list GMO ingredients on their labels so that you can be an educated consumer and can make the best decisions for you, your body, and your loved ones.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is working tirelessly to lobby against this bill and needs our support. You can support the opposition of the Dark Act and learn more about this bill by visiting

ACT NOW: By filling in this form to tell your local representative to oppose the Dark Act.

And, as always, you can make the choice to use safe skincare free from GMOs, chemical surfactants, PEG compounds, parabens, sulfates and more by shopping OSEA Skincare from the Sea. See our complete list of What’s Not In Our Products here.
