Looking for fresh ideas for a cozy date night in? Our Creative Director, Courtney Coll, has you covered. From her glowy skincare routine to her gua sha ritual—and the most delicious (and nutritious) almond butter cookies you’ll ever try—Courtney shares her secrets for the ultimate date night.
5:00 p.m.
My fiancé Cody and I both work long days, so date nights are essential. After work, we take at least a 30-minute walk with our dog to melt away the day and connect with nature. I love taking walks—it makes me feel so creative and open to the flow of energy!
5:15 p.m.
We just moved to L.A. so sometimes we’ll treat ourselves to a bowl of cooked greens, some salmon and sweet potatoes, or a comforting bowl of soup from Erewhon.
6:00 p.m.
I always try to do some stretching and breathwork in the evenings—it really makes a difference in the quality of my sleep. This is my special time to center and calm myself. I am hooked on Kyle Miller’s yoga classes. I have her videos downloaded on my phone so I can stretch anywhere—even when I’m traveling for photo shoots.
6:30 p.m.
After that, I do my self-care routine! My favorite way to unwind is by taking a shower with Undaria Algae™ Body Wash. I’ve been using this for a few months, and now I cannot live without it! I have it in both full and travel sizes. The citrus scent makes me so happy! Next, I exfoliate with our ultra-moisturizing Salts of the Earth Body Scrub. If you, like me, want silky, smooth skin, you need this.
6:45 p.m.
Once I’m out of the shower, I lather on Hyaluronic Body Serum from my neck to toes. It’s lightweight, but incredibly hydrating. My skin craves it, especially in the cooler months. Then, I apply a layer of Anti-Aging Body Balm. My skin is very dry so this deeply moisturizes my skin while giving me a glow.
6:55 p.m.
We love cookies, so I feel there is nothing better than cooking in my favorite organic cotton TEKLA striped bathrobe. I’m obsessed with my chocolate almond butter cookie recipe and always keep some in the freezer for guests.
BIG RED COOKIE RECIPE
1/4 coconut oil
1/3 cup almond butter or peanut butter
2/3 cup coconut sugar
2 flax eggs (ground flax meal)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup coconut flour
2/3 cup chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350*
2. Make the flax "egg" by combining 2 Tbs of flax meal with 5 Tbs of water in a small cup. Stir well and set aside to thicken.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted coconut oil, nut butter, and coconut sugar until smooth.
4. Stir in the vanilla extract, baking soda, salt, flax egg, and coconut flour, mixing until well combined.
5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
6. Bake for 9-10 minutes, depending on your preference: less for chewy cookies or a bit longer for crispy ones.
7:30 p.m.
While the cookies are cooling, I start on my skincare routine. First, I wash my face with our creamy Ocean Cleansing Milk. It’s fantastic—it just takes the whole day off, and is great for my sensitive skin.
7:32 p.m.
I rarely wear makeup unless I’m in front of the camera. Even then, I just want my skin to look natural. I’m a serum girl, and our Hyaluronic Sea Serum is the best. I’ve been using this since 2018. It gives skin such a dewy, hydrated glow. I’ll smooth on a few drops and then go in with my Gua Sha Sculptor. I’m on a 70-day gua sha streak, and I swear, it has totally changed my skin! You really need to try this.
7:40 p.m.
I’m a skincare minimalist, so after that I’ll apply my Dayglow Face Oil, and call it a night. It feels so luxurious and moisturizing and the glow is out of this world.
7:41 p.m.
I finish with a few swipes of Hyaluronic Lip Booster. What I love about this lip oil is that it’s clear, shiny and makes my lips look plump —it’s so good.
7:42 p.m.
Cody and I snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie with our cookies. I make him watch all the classics from the 2000s, like Almost Famous. He’s honestly obsessed too.
