Red Algae Clarifying Mask

Not sure if this product is supposed to do this because it’s clarifying my skin and cleansing the pores but my face started burning pretty bad after about 5 minutes with the mask on. I washed it off and my face is still pretty red and hot, nothing in the ingredients list is something I normally react to so I’m almost wondering if it’s supposed to do this as some liquid exfoliators typically do this. Use caution with this product and don’t leave it on very long but I do have to say it did open and clean my pores as the blackheads I had were gone in only 7-8 minutes.. I think this is just a very strong natural exfoliator.

I love all my Osea products thus far and decided to give the Red Algae Clarifying Mask. Within a couple of minutes, I could feel a sharp tingle on my skin and then a minute later, it escalated into a very hot burning sensation. I immediately washed my face clean with cold water & a gentle cleanser and slathered it in coconut oil and aloe gel to get some immediate relief. My face was puffy & red for a few hours but eventually it started to subside (there were frozen peas involved). Be cautious if you use this product — try a patch test on a small area of your face, etc. I have had a similar reaction to another production / different brand years ago, and after comparing the ingredient list, it seems that limonene is a shared ingredient and could be the culprit. Not entirely sure, but it was not a fun few hours!
