I love all my Osea products thus far and decided to give the Red Algae Clarifying Mask. Within a couple of minutes, I could feel a sharp tingle on my skin and then a minute later, it escalated into a very hot burning sensation. I immediately washed my face clean with cold water & a gentle cleanser and slathered it in coconut oil and aloe gel to get some immediate relief. My face was puffy & red for a few hours but eventually it started to subside (there were frozen peas involved). Be cautious if you use this product — try a patch test on a small area of your face, etc. I have had a similar reaction to another production / different brand years ago, and after comparing the ingredient list, it seems that limonene is a shared ingredient and could be the culprit. Not entirely sure, but it was not a fun few hours!

I will say this product makes my skin tingle, but thats how I know its working. I have always got small build up on my nose that i extract but it just keeps building, this mask after extracting, yes it burns a wee bit but it is the only thing that keeps my pores small and clean. I also have very acne prone skin and this, ELIMINATES that acne within a few days. I also have very sensitive skin so the burn is rough but I love this mask.

i really wanted to love this since it was recommended by the osea team in substitute of the sacylic acid treatment that was discontinued. i use this maybe 1x a week and i leave on for 5-10 min max because it makes my face burn and leaves it so red after rinsing. i tried looking at the ingredients thinking maybe i could be allergic to something in it but its hard to tell. :(

After leaving on for just 5 minutes my face started burning and turning bright red. I immediately washed it off and it remained hot and flushed for a few hours after. You could see a visible line from where I applied the product vs. where I didn’t.

I applied a thin layer, and after several minutes my skin started turning red. When I rinsed it off, my entire face was bright red and burning. It finally started to subside after an hour, but I won’t be using it again. If you buy, test out a small area first. I’ve used many masks and have never had an issue.

I know it sounds dramatic but it really is. While I was pregnant and freshly postpartum, my face would randomly break out. I would apply this face mask at night, follow the directions. In the morning, I would be blemish free! Highly recommend!

I was very impressed with how well this worked, but without treating my skin harshly. My skin is extremely sensitive so I was hesitant but it did a beautiful deep clean without any reactions. This is definitely going into my rotation.
