As a brand rooted in a holistic approach to wellness and self-care for over 30 years, we’re always thinking about how to support full-body wellness. The Power of Bio-Retinol, Now for Body
Early in development, we found ourselves asking the question: if bio-retinol works so beautifully on the face, why shouldn’t the rest of the body benefit from it too? Most of your skin–over 90%–is below the neck. It needs (and deserves) as much attention as your face. The challenge was creating a formula that delivered visible results without irritating the skin. “The skin on our body is exposed to the same daily stressors as our face, so maintaining a healthy skin barrier is key. Our goal was to deliver efficacy without including harsh ingredients that could irritate the skin.” explains Linda Hsiung, Senior Manager of Product Development.
Firm Results Meets Wellness While You Sleep
Once we aligned on bringing bio-retinol to the body, the formula began to take shape. “I created a proprietary blend of algae-derived bio-retinol and red seaweed for this unique serum. It mimics the effects of retinol by visibly firming skin and smoothing the look of wrinkles. But even with bio-retinol potency, it can be used every night,” shares our founder, Jenefer Palmer.
Dream Bio-Retinol Body Serum was never meant to be just another body treatment. As a bedtime body serum, it needed to visibly firm the skin and soothe the senses. Many formulations later, our product development team landed on a combination of lavender and magnesium, two known ingredients that work in tandem to create an experience of wellness while you sleep.“For me, nothing feels better after a long day than snuggling up in bed. That’s why I added magnesium and lavender to this dreamy, creamy formula. Magnesium soothes and lavender promotes a sense of serenity for a restful night,” says Jenefer. We now had the perfect bedtime ritual, bottled.
The Creamy Lavender Milk Texture
Because this formula was designed for nightly use, the experience mattered just as much as the results. We spent months perfecting the texture. We wanted it to be light enough to absorb quickly, but rich enough to feel comforting to the skin.
“We worked through multiple iterations to get the milky texture just right,” Linda explains. “It had to feel soothing on contact, melt in effortlessly, layer well under our other body moisturizers and leave skin hydrated by morning.”
The final formula is a lightweight creamy lavender milk serum that sinks in fast, and blankets skin in hydration and comfort—exactly the “dreamy” feeling we aimed for.
