Mineral filters are naturally white powders that sit on top of the skin to form a physical barrier, making it impossible for mineral SPF to be 100% invisible on every skin tone. Marine Screen was formulated to be lightweight and blendable to help minimize the look of white cast, and blends best when warmed and pressed into well-hydrated, moisturized skin.
Here are some pro tips to help minimize white cast (especially on deeper skin tones):
• Apply over well-moisturized skin for the smoothest blend.
• Warm it between fingers before pressing and smoothing onto skin.
• Let it set for 60–90 seconds before makeup; it layers well under makeup.
Marine Screen is a silky-smooth, non-greasy formula that melts into skin blending in effortlessly. It includes an olive-derived natural silicone alternative to help deliver its lightweight, non-greasy texture.
To avoid pilling, we recommend waiting 60-90 seconds between the last step of your skincare routine and application of Marine Screen to ensure each product has the chance to sink in and set fully. Also, wait 60-90 seconds after applying Marine Screen before applying makeup over it.
"Reef-safe" isn’t a regulated claim with a universally accepted standard, so we do not claim that Marine Screen is “reef-safe”. However, Marine Screen is purposefully formulated without oxybenzone, octinoxate or octocrylene-active sunscreen ingredients banned in Hawaii because they are known to be harmful to coral reefs, aligning with OSEA's clean approach to skincare and commitment to our oceans.
