An effective skincare routine typically includes cleansing, toning, treating, moisturizing and protecting.

Begin with a gentle, natural facial cleanser such as the Ocean Cleanser for normal and combination skin; Ocean Cleansing Milk for dry, sensitive and mature skin; or Ocean Cleansing Mudd for oily, blemish-prone and combination skin.

After cleaning, use a toner to balance the skin’s pH and prep it for better absorption of serums and moisturizers. Our Sea Minerals Mist, infused with aloe vera and a proprietary trio of seaweeds, delivers a refreshing hydration boost after a thorough cleanse.

Look for products specifically formulated for your skin type; for example, try oil-free formulas for oily skin and hydrating products for dry skin. For sensitive skin, opt for fragrance-free, gentle options to minimize (or avoid) irritation. Read labels and check for active ingredients that target your concerns, such as bio-retinol to address visible signs of aging.

Whenever you introduce a new skincare product to your routine, perform a patch test to assess how your skin will react.

The 4-2-4 method is a Japanese deep-cleansing technique that involves massaging a cleansing oil into the skin for four minutes, followed by a two-minute application of a water-based cleanser, and then rinsing for four minutes. It’s believed to help improve radiance by increasing circulation and deeply cleaning the pores to remove impurities.

This technique pairs well with our clean, gentle formulas. Start with the Ocean Wave Cleanser, suitable for all skin types. It contains Undaria seaweed, a rich source of amino acids, antioxidants and nutrients to mineralize the skin, as well as soothing bisabolol and moisturizing camelina seed oil. Shake the formula to mix the oil and water into a lightweight emulsion.

Next, use the Ocean Cleanser, Ocean Cleansing Milk or Ocean Cleansing Mudd (depending on your skin type) for two minutes. Finish with a thorough rinse.
